Te Takinga subdivided the lands at this end of Lake Rotoiti

among his sons. His son, Kiore took control of Motutawa

and the land south of the Ohau. His son, Parua received

Te Waerenga and lands to the north of the Ohau. His sons

Te Awanui, Mango and Manene occupied the Okere

area, east to Pukurahi and north towards Te Hiapo.
